The Return of the Anika

I've been rather neglectful, or, at least, I feel that way. You see, the Internet at our house has been haywire. It has been accessible through my iPod, which I use for emails, but I haven't found an app for reading blogs so there is about of a month of blog posts I need to catch up on. Supposedly, it will be fixed tomorrow, so, I'm really looking forward to that!

These past couple weeks have been very exciting. Remember all the carpet in my room? Gone.

Yeahhh, it was quite a treacherous journey. And, I did it all by myself. That sounds strange to say, but I really am proud of the feat. The carpet had to be ripped up, then the stupid padding that had stupid glue, the glue had to be scraped, the cement swept and scrubbed, then painted, over the course of about 6 full days. The glue made me miserable, I just don't know why the padding needed to be glued down. And, the cement was soooooooo dirty! Even after scrubbing it. I'm happy! The pink is perfect, and I made the room really simple, so when the closet is closed, there isn't anything distracting. Having a rolling chair is a dream. The closet organization is a work in process, I'll post pictures when I'm done! ((:

I got so much awesome stuff in the mail within the past few weeks, I feel incredibly blessed! I want to get proper permission first, and then I'll post it!

So just one last picture, of the cute kitty cat.

She thinks she's a book! ^_^

Next post won't be quite as delayed! I'm looking forward to catching up on all of the blogs, as I won't be able to properly sit down and read until tomorrow. YEEE!

Thank you for bearing with me (:

So, as I said before, we moved into a different house, across town. The moving was, eh, alright. And, as I soon found out, my new room pretty cool! The reason is that the old tenants (It's my mom's boyfriend's house) had set up a desk-type thing in the closet, and I was pretty thrilled.

We're definitely going to be painting, within the next few weeks, but, in the mean time, I painted the desk pink so that I could stand to look at it. The entire closet will be hot pink after we paint, and room will be a lot more neutral. Absolutely everything fits in the closet, and then it closes up neatly, hiding my insanity from the world.

The second day in this house, I was HORRIFIED to find that the window sill was covered in dead bees. They keep coming in, also. I'm not horrified because they're bees, I'm horrified because, I must admit, I have such a love for them. They get in somehow and then start to freak out, trying to escape, eventually tiring themselves out. Quite luckily, for them and me, they are a calm species and I can easily pick them up. There must be about 30 dead bees in the sill, awaiting a proper burial.

I guess, this one time, I'll share the mess that is my room.

Relatively organized, right? Like I said, it's not done. The walls will be painted and shelving put up. The lazy Bunny (poodle) is in her usual work station (I do the work and she looks cute). The picture of the books is up because I have a theory that you can tell a lot about a person by the books they read.

These are sideways for some reason, but, some old albums surfaced, and I found that little bit of thread. That is so funny to me because, it seems, I dyed thread for the first time long ago! Also, an insightful note, and me as a wee child.

Speaking of thread, since this post strikes me as rather boring:

The first thread is supposed to resemble fire, I'll need to take better pictures of it.

And, finally, this pattern is going to be up in a couple days, I'm just rewriting it.. The question, though, is how the heck do I put it in PDF format? O:

The next post will be super interesting, I promise! And I have tons of posts to catch up on when I get proper internet at the house (I'm at McDonald's), so don't be annoyed when you get comments on posts from like 2 weeks ago! AGH

That is all!

Thank you ((:

Row 4 of the Pink Doily

Bleh... BLEH! That's all I have to say.. Well, actually, of course, I have a lot to say. These past few days have been kinda miserable. I came down with an illness that required some medical attention. I tend to think of myself as indestructible. And, doctors/hospitals are avoided at all costs. This situation is especially troubling because not only am I ill, but, I am falling prey to the side effects of Sulfameth/ Trimethoprim. That means ridiculous nausea, dizziness, and lack of appetite. How terribly inconvenient, as we haven't even started moving furniture to the new house.

But, no more complaining!

I've gotten new followers recently! For a while, I feared I was stuck at a solid 35, but now I'm up to 42. I know everyone says not to worry about the number of followers, it's just solid proof that people actually are reading what I'm saying, and it's really cool. So, thank you!

Too many words, Anika, stop talking.... Okay, okay.. Row 4 of the Pink Doily has been finished. It's not terribly neat.

I thought it looked kinda cool with the background light. (My windows are covered with paper to reflect the sun, never got around to putting something shinier)

That's pretty much it. The ridiculously lengthy edging for the handkerchief is actually going pretty fast. I finished a little more than half a side in one sitting. Exciting!

The next post will be interesting, I promise!

We're moving.. Like, tomorrow..... My mom is a fan of letting us know things at the last moment. There's no excuse either. I don't really have too much stuff. Just craft and music things, so it's not a big deal. It's been so busy, I haven't been reading blogs, and probably won't be posting for a while, we shall see.

On the plus side, while out and about with a friend, I stopped at a Walmart (she loitered around, while I looked at stuff). In the craft section, I came across this.

Size 30 thread! Isn't that strange? At Walmart, of all places. I've never seen this in size 30. I wonder why they chose to carry that. Or why most craft stores choose not to. HMMMM!

And, remember that yarn I showed you the other day? While packing it up, I realized just how much I have.

*sigh* what to do with it........ Most of it I haven't used either.Yarn makes me happy.

Anyway, last post for a while!

Talk to you soon. (:

Motif #1, Doilies, Doilies Everywhere!

Remember the thread I dyed in my last post? It was for this! YAYYY! Hopefully I can get the two skeins of thread out today so that the people to receive them can make a little motif or something for the 4th of July. For the next holiday, I'll do a giveaway earlier! I feel as though I'll be doing a lot of thread giveaways.

I've been working on a lot of the 'Big Projects'. This is a doily for a friend, fourth row is currently being worked on.

It looks kinda messy. Old patterns! PSH! They never lie right. Plus, it kinda seems like the designer took random rows from different doilies and put them all together. I think it will look nice though in the end! Three rows to go!

Remember the handkerchief that Michelle sent me ages ago? I finished one side! AGH... Everyone else is finished. It hasn't really been worked on too much because of so many things going on, but I'm back to work. The reason it has taken so long is because of the edging I chose. I must be a masochist, because this is painful!

It's just that it looks sooo good! It's pretty decent to tat. It will be my priority project now. If you're wondering about the corners, there will be a motif in each, in either light pink or the same green. It'll be so nice!

All for today! ^_^

Thanks for the visit!
